Variable Text
Variable text is a tool that takes the text information inside the metadata of a file (a photo) and places it inside the photo or inside the filename. You can mix ordinary unchanging text and variable-text’s “metadata tokens” – codes – freely. The program evaluates the tokens, examines the picture’s information, and fills in the relevant text.
This feature is available in several places in the program. It can be used in the Import module when creating filenames for subfolders or renaming imported files. Variable text is also made available by the Batch Rename feature in the Manager module and by Contact Sheets in the Print module.
For example:
The variable text | {Y}-{M}-{D} |
might lead to this for a particular picture: | 2022-07-08 |
The specific writing instructions are always available via the small button with the triangle symbol
next to the line with the variable text.
