How to Work with PDF
The PDF format is not included in the list of supported formats that can normally be worked with in Zoner Studio. Nevertheless, it is possible to edit PDFs in Zoner Studio to some extent. The pages of PDF documents can be converted into images, which can then be edited and, once the editing is complete, reassembled into a PDF.

Ghostscript
If Ghostscript is not yet installed on your computer, it will be necessary to install it in order to work with PDF files. It is software designed for interpreting PostScript and PDF formats, and thanks to it, the format can be converted into a raster image that Zoner Studio can work with.
If Ghostscript is not installed, a message will notify you as soon as you click, for example, the Convert PDF to TIFF button. The message will also contain a link to the official Ghostscript website, from which the plugin can be obtained.
Since the current version of Zoner Studio only supports 64-bit operating systems, select the 64-bit version for Windows from the list.
The installer will be downloaded to your computer, where you just need to locate it, double-click it, and complete the installation. After finishing the installation, simply restart Zoner Studio and you are ready to go.

Converting PDF to Images
If you have a PDF document that you need to edit in Zoner Studio, select it in Explorer mode and click the Split into Pages button.
A dialog will open that lets you set the location, format, and quality of the export of individual pages.
If the PDF contains a standard document, set the compression value to 85. If the PDF contains photos, graphics, or other content where display quality is really important, set the compression to 95 or higher.
After setting the values in the dialog, click Export. A new folder will be created, in which the document pages are stored as individual images named according to the original page numbering. By renaming individual files, you can change the page order. You can also add new images to the folder to insert pages, or remove some pages.
The images can then be freely edited – whether you need to add text, change colors, or insert other images, all editing functions in Zoner Studio are available.
Document Tools
In addition to the default functions available in Zoner Studio, document editing can be further enhanced with three tools that the Develop module offers once they are enabled in the program settings. These tools are Highlighter, Anonymization, and Annotation, and they can be enabled in the Preferences | Miscellaneous dialog by checking the option Show document tools in Develop. The tools will appear in a separate row in the right panel.
The Highlighter is useful for documents containing text. With the Ruler enabled, it allows easy highlighting of text lines. Using the Add Highlighter button, you can work with multiple highlighter colors in one document.
With Anonymization, any part of the document can be blurred or covered with color or pixels to prevent the spread of sensitive information. Although automatic recognition of human faces and car license plates is available, you can simply click and drag within the image to place an anonymization area anywhere, for example to hide names, dates, or anything else.
Annotation is used for inserting notes and marks into the file. You can insert text, arrows, shapes, straight or curved lines, and area borders.
Assembling Images into PDF
After completing all edits and checking the order of the individual files, you need to select all the files you want to assemble into a PDF and click the Assemble into PDF button.
In the export window, set the PDF parameters. In most cases, it is best to leave the quality value at 90%. If the document contains photos and you need the highest quality for printing, you can set a higher quality value.
