Issues When Working with RAW Files
When working with RAW files, users may occasionally encounter problems under certain conditions. Here is an overview of the most common error situations.

Catastrophic failure.
Error opening file. The file format is not supported or the file is corrupted.
The parameter is incorrect.
If you encounter one of these error messages, the program is unable to open the file for some reason. The most common reasons include:
- The file has an unusual dimension (caused by a specific camera setting) that we have not yet implemented in our database.
- The file is compressed, and the compression type is not supported by the library we use for RAW processing.
- The file is damaged.
These situations must always be examined. Please take a screenshot of your entire screen at the moment the message is displayed, and send it together with the RAW file via the service WeTransfer to support@zoner.com.
Adobe DNG Converter Not Available
The picture was loaded using Adobe DNG Converter, which is currently not available. Install the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter and configure Zoner Studio to use it via Preferences | Format RAW. Use the right-click menu for a file's thumbnail to switch to internal loading; however, the picture's color may be shown differently.
This message appears if you have chosen to use Adobe DNG Converter for RAW loading, but your currently installed version of the converter does not support the given RAW. You can download the installer for the latest version of the DNG Converter from Adobe’s website.
Open the Preferences dialog using the [Ctrl+M] keyboard shortcut.
Open the context menu by right-clicking on the file thumbnail in Browser mode or in the Filmstrip. In the menu, you will find the option RAW File Loading Mode, which lets you choose between Internal Loading and Loading via DNG Converter for a specific file.
In rare cases, this message may appear after the DNG Converter fails to load. If updating to the latest version of the converter does not remove the error message, please take a screenshot of your entire screen when the message appears and send it along with the RAW file via WeTransfer to support@zoner.com. Please also attach your system information file.
RAW File Format Not Supported
The RAW file format is not supported. To extend RAW file loading support, install the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter and enable its use in the Preferences | RAW Format dialog.
This message indicates that we do not yet provide internal support for files from your camera. To work with these RAW files, you must download and install Adobe DNG Converter and connect it to Zoner Studio.

Distorted Preview
Although these problems are not common, under certain circumstances a RAW may load and open but not display correctly. For example:
- the image is squashed or stretched,
- the sides of the image are in the wrong ratio,
- the image appears pink,
- the brightest parts of the image (highlights) are covered by a strong color.
These situations must always be examined. Please take a screenshot of your entire screen showing how the RAW is displayed. Send it together with the RAW file and your system information file via WeTransfer to support@zoner.com.
If, after opening the file in the Develop module, the colors shift slightly (for example, the image darkens) and vignetting or barrel distortion appears, this is not a case of distorted preview. It is a normal phenomenon resulting from the characteristics of the RAW format.
